Electrosonic Unveils Expanded Broadcast Range

Electrosonic is premiering the ES7100 SDI encoder/decoder at IBC Amsterdam 2008, alongside its range of new image processors and HD players.

Hotly anticipated by the broadcast and live event sectors and amongst the first 3G SDI IP encoder/decoder products available, the ES7100, for broadcast contribution over IP networks, is a uniquely versatile encoder / decoder which streams 3G SDI, HD-SDI and SDI video over any LAN, WAN or VPN at highly efficient bit rates – all the while, maintaining excellent image quality and incredibly low latency. It provides exceptionally robust protection against network errors making it ideal for quality critical applications in studio contribution, outside broadcast, studio to studio media exchange and post production.

The secret behind the ES7100’s class-leading combination of quality and reliable delivery is Electrosonic’s PURE3 codec, specifically developed by Electrosonic to optimize performance on networks. Supporting both Unicast and Multicast transport the ES7100 provides constant, real-time temporal and spatial image compression, plus extensive bit rate management for unsurpassed performance operating on IP networks.

Also making its debut at IBC is the ES9600 High Definition Player that features two independent HD playback channels with 3D and 2K video support at a reasonable price. It supports the same JPEG2000 video format used in digital cinema theaters producing sharp, vivid imagery ideal for large screen A/V installations.

The ES9600 incorporates 2K resolution via dual HD-SDI and dual DVI-I video outputs. It also features Timecode and Genlock, gigabit network, GPI and 16 channels of broadcast quality digital audio, plus an advanced user interface and confidence monitor.
