3D Transmission First in Russia

Russia’s Ocean-TV has undertaken a successful 10-minute test transmission in 3D with technical assistance from the DTH platform Orion Express. Cableman reports that Ocean-TV now plans to transmit a full-length feature film in 3D on June 8, designated as World Oceans Day by the UN.

Russia is making huge strides in 3D, with the DTH platform NTV-Plus and cableco Akado both already producing content and planning to launch channels in the format.
