May Launch for Orange 3D Channel

Orange will launch its dedicated 3D channel on May 23 with the start of the Roland Garros tennis tournament. Orange 3D will initially be available to all its IPTV customers and will be distributed free of charge, according to director of content Hervé Payan.

The channel will not only broadcast the live games from Paris, but since the last two years Orange has already filmed Roland Garros in 3D, it will also broadcast games from 2008 and 2009. The broadcaster will also programme (recorded) boxing matches in 3D, as well as acquired 3D material including movies.
