Chunghwa Telecom to Offer 3D content at MOD in 3Q10
Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) plans to start offering 3D TV programs through its MOD service in the third quarter of 2010, and also aims to increase subscribers to the service to one million by the end of the year, compared to 700,000 currently.
CHT said on February 4 that EYE TV, a local operator of TV program channels, will launch Chinese-language 3D drama content for the MOD service.
CHT's MOD service offers five HD channels with 700,000-750,000 subscribers for a monthly ARPU (average revenues per user) of NT$115 (US$3.6) currently, CHT indicated. CHT said it aims to boost its MOD revenues to NT$1.3 billion in 2010.
