BSkyB ‘Impressive’ 3D Prospects for 2010

A report from the investment bank division of Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) paints a very positive picture of BSkyB’s prospects for this calendar year. And 3D-TV figures high in the forecast.

BSkyB ends its financial year at the end of June by which time the broadcaster will be well on its way to its own target of 10m subscribers. However, it will likely not hit the magic number until later this year.

But RBS advised clients in its note to mop up shares in BSkyB, and RBS says it has been impressed by Sky’s plans for 3D transmissions. They say that 3D, if executed well, could give a boost to Sky’s share price.

There could be a few hurdles ahead, however, not least a decision expected any hour now on the precise status around Sky’s 17.9% holdings in ITV.
